7170-9600 is specific for Parathyroid hormone related peptide (PTHrP). PTHrP is involved in the formation of mammary glands and teeth, and it regulates bone development. It shares the same N-terminal as Parathyroid hormone (PTH) which allows it to bind to Parathyroid Hormone Receptor 1 (PTHR1). This receptor is responsible for hypercalcemia, which is an increase of calcium in the blood.
