Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with mouse and non-human primate based on sequence homology.
ABfinity™ recombinant antibodies are rabbit monoclonal antibodies, unmatched for producing superior results. ABfinity™ antibodies are developed by immunizing animals, screening for functionality, cloning the immunogen-specific antibody genes into high-level mammalian expression vectors, produced on a large scale, and purified with Protein A.
ABfinity™ monoclonal antibodies resemble rabbit monoclonals isolated from serum or produced by hybridomas, but demonstrate greater specificity and sensitivity. Because ABfinity™ recombinant antibodies are derived from cloned DNA sequences of the heavy and light antibody chains, they are not susceptible to cell-line drift or lot-to-lot variation, thus allowing for peak specificity and performance.
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generating a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.
By sandwich ELISA, 701239 can be used as a coating antibody with each of the following mouse monoclonal detection antibodies: Product # MA5-14668, MA5-14670, or MA5-14732, to generate a matched pair. With each of these matched pairs, recombinant human Apo A-1, but not recombinant mouse Apo A-1, is detected. 701239 can be used to capture Apo A-1 from serum samples. To increase sensitivity of sandwich ELISAs with 701239, a biotinylated detection antibody followed by Streptavidin-HRP is recommended.
Background/Target Information
Apo A1 (Apolipoprotein A1) is synthesized in the liver and small intestine, and is regulated by the dietary intake of lipids. It is the major constituent of human high density lipoproteins (HDL) and plays an important role in metabolic and transport function of lipoproteins of the serum. It is regulated by the dietary intake of lipids, and acts as an activator for the enzyme lecithin cholesterol acyl transferase which converts cholesterol to cholesteryl esters. During lypolysis in the peripheral tissue, Apo A1 can also play a role as an acceptor for surface components of very low density lipoproteins and chylomicrons. The gene encoding Apo A1 is found on chromosome 11.
