Background/Target Information
Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 1, in humans, is encoded by the IRAK1 gene which is a serine/threonine-specific kinase. IRAK1 upon stimulation is partially responsible for IL1-induced upregulation of the transcription factor NF-kappa B. On phosphorylation, IRAK1 recruits the adapter protein PELI1.
