Cut Your Gel, Not the Surface of Your Light Base
Every E-Gel® Imager Band Excision Kit includes a gel cutting guard that is specially designed to fit both the E-Gel® Imager Blue and UV Light Bases. This cutting guard helps ensure that you can harvest your band of interest without damaging the surface of the light base. There’s never a reason to risk the integrity of future images by cutting a band directly off the surface of a light base when you have the E-Gel® Imager Band Excision Kit.
Keep the Lights On
The E-gel® Imager System has been specifically designed to deactivate transillumination when the camera hood is removed from the light base. This is a safety measure to help prevent exposure to intense blue light that can harm your eyes or UV light that can harm your eyes and skin. To allow you to excise a band of interest from your gel using the E-Gel® Imager Light Base each excision kit includes a special magnetic key that will allow transillumination with the camera hood removed.
