Leibovitz's L-15 Medium supports the growth of HEP-2 monkey kidney cells and primary explants of embryonic and adult human tissue. L-15 is buffered by phosphates and free base amino acids instead of sodium bicarbonate. This medium is designed for supporting cell growth in environments without CO2 equilibration.

cGMP Manufacturing and Quality System
Gibco® L-15 is manufactured at a cGMP compliant facility, located in Grand Island, New York. The facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 standards. For supply chain continuity, Life Technologies offers a comparable Gibco® L-15 product made in our Scotland facility (41300-021). This facility is registered with the FDA as a medical device manufacturer and is certified to the ISO 13485 standard.
L-15 contains no proteins, lipids, or growth factors. Therefore, F-10 requires supplementation, commonly with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). Powder forms of Gibco® L-15 cell culture medium require pH adjustment and filtration at the time of preparation (see protocol for details).
