Apolipoprotein B (apoB) is the main protein component of low density lipoprotein particles (LDL) and it is a large water insoluble molecule of 512 kD (apoB-100) produced mainly in the liver and in the intestine (apoB-48). ApoB is regarded as a negative factor in cardiovascular disease. ApoB-100 is normally 98% of the apoB in plasma and at a concentration of approximately 1 mg/ml.
All kits include purified human apoB as a standard.
Cross-reactivity has been assessed and confirmed with certain non-human primate species.
Mabtech’s enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, ELISA PRO, is a complete kit for the quantification of human apoB in biological fluids such as serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The assay utilizes ELISA strip plates precoated with capture monoclonal antibodies (mAb), a biotinylated mAb for detection, streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase (SA-HRP), TMB substrate, standard, buffers, diluents, stop solution and adhesive plate covers.
