Perforin is produced by cytotoxic T cells and NK cells as an effector molecule in the cell-mediated destruction of target cells. Perforin will facilitate delivery of granzymes which induces apoptosis of the target cell.
All kits include a Perforin standard derived from human YT cells. No international standard exists for calibration.
Cross-reactivity has been assessed and confirmed with certain non-human primate species.
