Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is, when biologically active, a heterodimer (p70) consisting of two covalently linked subunits, p35 and p40. The p40 subunit is shared with IL-23. IL-12 is produced by antigen-presenting cells, specifically dendritic cells and macrophages. IL-12 is a proinflammatory cytokine that promotes TH1-type responses by inducing IFN-ã production and enhancing proliferation and cytotoxicity of NK and T cells.
Please check our different ELISA kits for the detection of mouse IL-12 p70 below. All kits include a recombinant cytokine standard. No international standard exists for calibration.
Mabtech’s enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, ELISA PRO, is a complete kit for the quantification of mouse IL-12 (p70) in biological fluids such as serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The assay utilizes ELISA strip plates precoated with a capture monoclonal antibody (mAb), a biotinylated mAb for detection, streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase (SA-HRP), TMB substrate, a recombinant IL-12 standard (p70 heterodimer), buffers, diluents, stop solution and adhesive plate covers.
