Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is, when biologically active, a heterodimer (p70) consisting of two covalently linked subunits, p35 and p40. The p40 subunit is shared with IL-23. IL-12 is produced by antigen-presenting cells, specifically dendritic cells and macrophages. IL-12 is a proinflammatory cytokine that promotes TH1-type responses by inducing IFN-γ production and enhancing proliferation and cytotoxicity of NK and T cells.
Please check our different ELISA kits for the detection of human IL-12 p70 specific below. All kits include a recombinant cytokine standard calibrated against an international standard (NIBSC).
Mabtech’s enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, ELISA PRO, is a complete kit for the quantification of human IL12 p70 in biological fluids such as serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The assay utilizes ELISA strip plates precoated with monoclonal capture antibodies (mAbs), a biotinylated mAb for detection, streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase (SA-HRP), TMB substrate, a recombinant IL-12 standard (p70 heterodimer), buffers, diluents, stop solution and adhesive plate covers.
