IFN-γ (Interferon-gamma) is produced mainly by activated T cells and NK cells. It is a proinflammatory cytokine that activates macrophages and endothelial cells, but it also regulates immune responses by effecting APC and T and B cells. Production of IFN-γ (Interferon-gamma) by helper T cells as well as cytotoxic T cells is a hallmark of the TH1-type phenotype, thus, high-level production of IFN-γ (Interferon-gamma) is typically associated with effective host defense against intracellular pathogens.
Cross-reactivity has been assessed and confirmed with Rhesus and Cynomolgus macaques.
Mabtech’s enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, ELISA PRO, is a complete kit for the quantification of monkey IFN-γ in biological fluids such as serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. The assay utilizes ELISA strip plates precoated with a capture monoclonal antibody (mAb), a biotinylated mAb for detection, streptavidin-horseradish peroxidase (SA-HRP), TMB substrate, a recombinant human IFN-γ standard calibrated against an international human standard (NIAID), buffers, diluents, stop solution and adhesive plate covers.
