1910-8000F is specific for Cathepsin B, a lysosomal protease expressed in a wide range of tissues, including liver, skeletal muscle and heart.
Cathepsin B plays a role in protein degradation and has also been shown to activate urokinase type plasminogen activator (uPA) and certain matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs).
While raised against human Cathepsin B, it is likely that 1910-8000F will cross react with Cathepsin B from other species.
