Description: The AN-HH1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human gp130, also known as CD130. gp130 is the common receptor subunit for the IL-6 family of cytokines, including IL-6, IL-11, IL-27, Oncostatin M, and LIF. gp130 is expressed on numerous cell types, including T cells, mast cells, and epithelial cells. Soluble forms of gp130 have been isolated from human serum samples. Upon ligand binding, gp130 signals via the JAK-STAT, MAPK, and PI3 kinase pathways. AN-HH1 is reported to neutralize the proliferative responses to LIF (leukemia inhibitory factor), CT-1 (cardiotrophin-1), OSM (oncostatin M), CLC (cardiotrophin-like cytokine), Interleukin (IL)-6, IL-11, and CNTF (ciliary neurotrophic factor), and neuropoietin.
