Description: The polyclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat TACE; the antibody was raised against residues 807-823 of human ADAM17, also known as TACE (TNF-α Converting Enzyme), and recognizes human, mouse and rat ADAM17. ADAM17/TACE is a member of the ADAM (A Disintegrin And Metalloprotease) family of membrane-anchored glycoproteins comprised of several distinct protein modules, including a pro- and metalloprotease domain, disintegrin domain, cysteine-rich region and an EGF repeat. ADAM17 converts TNF-α from its membrane-bound precursor (26 kDa) to generate the secreted mature form (17 kDa). ADAM17 also processes other molecules such as TNF receptor, TGF-α, and CD62L (L-Selectin). ADAM17 is expressed by a variety of human and mouse tissues.
