Description: The monoclonal antibody 26mNOD2 reacts with mouse NOD2. NOD2, also referred to as caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 15 (CARD 15), is a cytosolic protein of approximately 115kDa. NOD2 contains a central NOD (nucleotide oligomerization domain) that is flanked by a C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain and an N-terminal CARD domain. The LRR confers recognition of microbial components such as muramyl dipeptide and the CARD domain confers the ability to interact with RIP2 via homotypic interaction with the RIP2 CARD. This interaction leads to downstream activation of NF-κB.
The antibody 26mNOD2 has been shown to recognize protein from transgenic and transfected cells. Expression on endogenous tissue is still under evaluation.
