Description: Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterases (PDE) catalyze the hydrolysis of cAMP and cGMP thereby regulating the effects of these second messengers. There are several families of PDE which share common structural organization. The PDE3 family has two members, 3A and 3B that are products of two separate genes. PDE3B (~130 kDa) is expressed predominantly in adipose tissue and lymphocytes, while PDE3A (~120 kDa) is expressed predominantly in platelets and heart tissue.
The monoclonal antibody SMCP3B reacts with mouse PDE3B. The SMCP3B antibody was generated against amino acids 643-1100 in the C-terminus and does not cross-react with mouse PDE3A, as determined by western blot analysis of lysates of mouse heart tissue. The SMCP3B antibody does not cross-react with human PDE3B.
