Clone REA677 recognizes the human Vβ7.2 T cell receptor (TCR Vβ7.2). The TCR is responsible for recognizing antigens bound to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. It is a disulfide-linked membrane-anchored heterodimeric glycoprotein normally consisting of the highly variable α and β chains expressed as part of a complex with the invariant CD3 chain molecules. It is suggested that T cells expressing TCRs with Vβ7.2 are protective against a pathogenic immune response in Sjögren's syndrome. TCR Vβ7.2 is expressed on a subset of α/β T cells.
Additional information: Clone REA677 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
Alternative names
TCR Vb7.2, TCR Vbeta7.2
