96-well Magnet optimized for use with Dynabeads® This magnet pulls beads to the side of each well. Compatible with PCR-strips and 96-well plates (200 µl) non-skirted and half-skirted. This magnet replaces the Dynal MPC®-9600.

Designed for automation platforms (e.g. Tecan) and manual work.

When used in combination with the DynaMag™-96 Bottom (Product # 12332D) on an automation platform, the two magnets allow for significant volume changes through a workflow.

13 columns instead of 12
This magnet has an extra column (13 total). This enables sample mixing simply by shifting the 96-well plate back and forth from the right-most position to the left-most position. This movement causes the beads to move back and forth through the sample volume as they are repeatedly concentrated on the left wall of the tube, then the right, then left... etc.

Mixing can be achieved without actually interacting with the sample, allowing for faster processing and less sample handling-induced variation.
