This 96-well side skirted magnet is optimized for use with Dynabeads® products. The magnet features 6 bar magnets. With the beads collected at the side of the well, residual liquid can be removed without disturbing the bead pellet.
Compatible with 96-well skirted PCR-plates*, culture plates, 96-well round bottom plates, 96-well flat bottom plates, 24-well plates, 12-well plates, and 6-well plates. Not recommended for use with 48-well plates.
* Note that plates may vary, and you should test your plate for compatibility.
Mixing:
Mixing can be performed by shifting the 96-well plate back and forth from the right-most position to the left-most position. This movement causes the beads to move back and forth through the sample volume, as they are repeatedly concentrated on the left wall of the tube, then the right, then left... etc.
Mixing can be achieved without physically interacting with the sample. This allows for faster processing and less variation due to sample handling (i.e. 更看更多reduced chance of contamination, sample degradation, and volume loss).
Handling Volume:
When used in combination with DynaMag™-96 Bottom on an automation platform, these magnets allow for significant volume changes within a workflow:
- High wash volumes (DynaMag™-96 Side and DynaMag™-96 Side Skirted)
- Low elution volumes (DynaMag™-96 Bottom)
