Description: This mAb 130 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse MHC class Ib H2-M3. This molecule specifically binds N-formylated peptides, which arise from mitochondrial or bacterial proteins. H2-M3-restricted T cells are mainly cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. H2-M3 associates with beta2-microglobulin. Finally, H2-M3 is expressed on cells in the spleen, Peyer’s patches, and lymph nodes, but not in the thymus. More specifically, cell surface expression of H2-M3 is low on B cells. However, H2-M3 can be induced by incubation with N-formylated peptide on T and B cells, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
