Description: This 11D5F4 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat CD314, which is also known as NKG2D. This C-type lectin-like type II transmembrane protein is expressed on NK cells, subsets of T lymphocytes (e.g., CD8+ T cells and gammadelta T cells), NK T cells, and activated macrophages. The frequency of cells expressing NK2GD has been shown to vary among different rat strains. This receptor is involved in activating NK cell cytotoxicity, and has been reported to bind the MHC Class I-related ligands RAE-1L and RRLT to mediate allograft rejection in the rat.
The 11D5F4 antibody has been reported to block killing and IFN gamma secretion by NK cells co-cultured with dendritic cells.
