Agarose is useful in separation of nucleic acids electrophoretically because agarose gels have larger pore sizes than cross linked acrylamide gels at low concentrations and in chromatographic separations by either beading the agarose or cross-linking it.
原厂资料:
Agarose is a purified linear galactan hydrocolloid isolated from agar or agar-bearing marine algae with an Electroendoosmosis(EEO) value of 0.17 making it an essential component in chemical separation techniques. It has a gel strength of 1.5% solution: ≥2
Sulfate content - used as an indicator of purity, since sulfate is the major ionic group present.Gel strength - the force that must be applied to a gel to cause it to fracture.
