0300-0120 recognises BRCA1 also known as Breast Cancer 1, a tumour suppressor gene which is involved in the repair of damaged DNA. BRCA1 protein inhibits the growth of cells lining the milk ducts in the breast and is often used as a diagnostic marker for breast cancer.
