3H11 reacts with an epitope dependent on the last 84 amino acids of rat NF-M (145 kD). Neurofilament proteins consist of the light NF-L, medium NF-M and heavy NF-H subunits. Most neurons appear to express these proteins but their ratios and phosphorylation states are variable.
Clone 3H11 has also been determined to bind to a C- terminal epitope of bovine NF-M SEE IMAGE. from: Shawet al. 2004
