0100-0186 is specific for the extracellular domain 1 of parathyroid hormone receptor 2. A member of the G-protein coupled receptor family, particularly abundant in the brain and pancreas .It may be responsible for PTH effects in a number of physiological systems and may play a significant role in pancreatic function. Binds parathyroid hormone, but shows very low affinity for PTHrP. This molecule is expressed in only a few tissues, and its structure and physiologic significance are poorly characterized. Type 2 receptor, is coupled to adenylyl cyclase, ligand binding induces a rise in intracellular concentration of cyclic AMP.
