0070-2304 reacts with actin, the major constitutent of the thin filaments in muscle and of the microfilaments in non-muscle cells. It is present in all eukaryotic cells and its organization may vary from one cell to another depending on it's origin and physiological state. Actin exists a monomeric form (G-actin) or in a filamentous form (F-actin).
In immunofluorescence, this product stains the stress fibres of cultured fibroblasts from chicken, mouse, rat and human. It also stains the I-bands of stretched skeletal muscle.
